EnableMe is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and providing access to information and create a supportive network for disabled people, their families, and caregivers.

Kenya Institute for Special Education (KISE)

KISE is a semi-autonomous government agency of the Ministry of Education with a mandate to ensure that every child with special needs and disability accesses quality education and achieves their full potential.

The Deafblind Africa Network

Launched at the first Deafblind International Africa Conference in May 2022, the Africa network seeks to bring together individuals and organisations that have an interest in promoting the rights and inclusion of people with deafblindness in Africa.

Kenya National Library Services

Kenya National Library Services launched the country’s first accessible virtual library, vtabu, accessible via a weekly, monthly, bi-annual and an annual membership fee. The Library also provides the Braile Library Service containing braille books mostly fiction both adult and junior with a total braille stock of about 600 tittles; large print, most of which are adult, computer and internet service for the blind, two computers with screen readers namely JOS and NVDA and large font magnifiers.

Kenya Society for the Blind(KSB)

Established in 1956, Kenya Society for the Blind supports visually impaired individuals in Kenya and promotes inclusive education, training, and rehabilitation. The society collaborates with government and partners on initiatives like the Kenya Integrated Education Programme (KIEP) and eye care services.

Kenya Union of the Blind (KUB)

Formed in 1960, Kenya Union of the Blind is Kenya’s national organisation for visually impaired people, focused on promoting social inclusion, empowerment, and advocacy for equal opportunities. The union offers education support, sports, arts, talent promotions, and economic empowerment programs.

Kenya Institute for the Blind (KIB)

Established in 1968, Kenya Institute for the Blind operates as a Ministry of Education institution and National Braille Resource Center, producing educational materials, teaching braille skills, and providing rehabilitation for visually impaired individuals.

Deaf Empowerment Society of Kenya (DESK)

Founded in 2013, DESK advocates for equal opportunities and rights for deaf individuals in Embu County and Kenya through human rights advocacy, empowerment, and education programs.

Kenya National Association of the Deaf (KNAD)

Kenya National Association of the Deaf is a national advocacy organisation for hearing-impaired persons, mobilising and empowering them for active representation and inclusion in society.

The African Braille Centre

The African Braille Centre is a regional organisation based in Nairobi and focused in the production of curriculum learning materials in braille, talking/audio books, large print, EPUB, DAISY Text and Audio and BRF Formats for use by visually impaired learners in schools.

Kenya Society for Deaf Children (KSDC)

Established in 1958, the Kenya Society for Deaf Child supports hearing-impaired children through education, welfare, health, family support programs, and advocacy for their rights and participation in society.

The National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD)

The National Council for Persons with Disabilities is a state corporation established by an Act of Parliament; the Persons with Disabilities Act No. 14 of 2003 and set up in November 2004. he Council representation is drawn from key government ministries and organisations of/for persons with disabilities.

Sightsavers International Kenya

Sightsavers works with partners in Kenya to improve eye health, fight neglected diseases and uphold disability rights.

Christian Blind Mission (CBM)

Christian Blind Mission is a leading christian development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world.

Kilimanjaro Blind Trust Africa

Kilimanjaro Blind Trust Africa is charitable trust working to enable visually impaired learners have access to education through Braille literacy and Innovative Assistive Technology.

Innovate Now

Innovate Now is Africa’s first Assistive Technology Venture Accelerator dedicated to supporting startups in scaling their ventures.Participants benefit from valuable connections to investors and mentors, gaining access to a LiveLab where founders engage directly with individuals with disabilities to test and refine their innovative ideas.
