Acquiring crocheting skills prepares the individual to engage in income-generating activities and the world of work. Therefore, the learner will know how to handle materials used in crocheting and how to make crochets to stimulate the fine motor skills as well as generate an income

Interventions

  • Introducing crocheted items to the learner
  • Providing materials and equipment used in crocheting
  • Guiding the learner in manipulating materials and equipment for crocheting
  • Demonstrating crocheting to the learner
  • Guiding the learner to make crocheted items
  • Guiding the learner in storing and selling crocheted items

  • Reinforcing positive behaviour of the learner

The learner can:

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Sports (MoEST&S) through the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) recognise the fact that learners who are deafblind and not in school require a specialised curriculum and support materials.


Kyambogo University, a public institution in Uganda, boasts an inclusive education system that prioritizes the well-being and development of learners with deafblindness.
