This resource offers a comprehensive overview of early identification and intervention strategies for children with deafblindness. It highlights the importance of timely screening, developmental assessments, and family-centered practices to enable better learning, communication, and social participation outcomes. The resource also addresses early signs and symptoms of hearing and vision loss and the value of collaborative approaches involving families and professionals.

Drawing on the International Classification of Functioning (ICF) framework, the manual promotes a holistic and inclusive approach that considers bio-psychosocial factors and the role of environmental supports. It also introduces the “Six F-Words” (Function, Family, Fitness, Friends, Fun, and Future) as guiding principles to support children’s growth and participation in everyday life.
