In this learning activity, the learner will be able to understand the techniques and acquires skills for gardening, thereby practicing gardening independently. 

Suggested Interventions

  • Introducing materials, tools and equipment to the learner
  • Guiding the learner to manipulate and use materials, equipment and tools
  • Supporting the learner to follow the routine/ sequence of garden activities
  • Guiding the learner to identify various types of crops for growing
  • Supporting the learner to grow crops
  • Supporting the learner to differentiate crops from weeds
  • Guiding the learner in using pesticides and fertilizers safely
  • Supporting the learner to harvest store and sell crops
  • Guiding the learner to clean and keep tools and equipment used in gardening appropriately
  • Observing and recording progress
  • Reinforcing the learner’s achievements and positive behaviours
