The ‘I too have a voice!’ campaign led by Sense International Romania aims to increase awareness about the rights of persons with disabilities, with a specific focus on children.

As part of this initiative, a child-friendly version of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) was created. The document explains some of the key articles included in the Convention, including equal rights; girls and women with disabilities; children with disabilities; freedom, safety and protection; independent life and mobility; education; health; family; and fun, good times and sports.

The resource can be used to help children understand the main concepts that inform the UNCRPD and the key rights that it describes. It can also help to open up conversations with children and young people about the rights that they are entitled to, and the ways in which they are able to realise these rights.
