Children with severe and multiple disabilities experience significant functional limitations in at least one area of their daily lives such as seeing, hearing, walking, fine motor skills, communication, learning, play, or behavior regulation. Many families, teachers, and policymakers often believe that children with severe or multiple disabilities can never participate in mainstream education.

This resource provides detailed information on how home-based education supports children with severe and multiple disabilities to develop essential daily living skills and prepare them for eventual inclusion in mainstream schooling.
